Mikkelsen lead to Kopecky with 3.6 seconds ahead the last stage while the engine problem cause him almost 32 seconds delay and lost the first place.
Comments in the last stage:
Mikkelsen: “I had no engine power, it was misfiring all the way. There was no power at all and it’s very disappointing because I was so close to my first win on Tarmac. It’s a shame. We felt it at the end of the second last one but there is nothing we could do.”
Kopecky: “I heard he has some problems with the engine. That’s a pity because it was a nice battle the whole weekend. Winning because of his problem does not make me so I happy.”
Final Results:
1. J. Kopecky 2:21:46.5
2. A. Mikkelsen +28.3
3. L. Monzon + 3:13.6
4. S. Wiegand +4:32.0
5. J. Perez +7:29.3
6. J. Vinyes +9:00.3
