I don’t know what it is but it feels like a driveshaft. The car suddenly lost drive on a left-hand corner. I carried on in two-wheel drive. It looks like the front differential exploded. It’s never happened before.”

Ogier:  It is okay, but I have been very careful with the clutch on this stage.
Latvala: It would be nice to see the times for the other class, our car is like 2WD. We can get to the service now and get the car fixed.
After the service park today the rally restart with a new victory for Mads Ostberg followed by Latvala. Ogier finished fourth at +5.1 seconds.

Comments:
Ostberg: I started to push a little bit too early and at the end my tyres were completely done. I want to pass Lappi and Al-Qassimi, hopefully it is enough to get some points. It has been very good, we know the reasons for the crash and think that these things just happen. Unfortunately, but I think we done a good rally.
Novikov: I am happy with the place, 4th position is very good for us. I am happy.
Latvala I need to be happy, it is my first podium with Volkswagen, also the power stage I managed to push. I was only concentrating on my driving and to be honest I am satisfied with that.
Hirvonen: I tried, I really pushed hard but not fast enough. It was a tough stage, we had to fight so much with the tyres as well. We have to keep on working, I am not happy with the pace this weekend. My rhythm was not perfect, sometimes pushing too hard, but 2nd place, not too bad.
Ogier: Superb weekend. It has been really complicated for us, I came here on Monday and was not sure whether I could do the rally. The team has done a good job, we had a few problems and they managed to fix it.

Overall Results:
1. S. Ogier (Volkswagen Polo R WRC) 4:07:38.7
2. M. Hirvonen (Citroen DS3 WRC) +58.2
