A wonderful start for Sebastien Ogier in Rally Sardegna 2013. In SS1 Monte Lerno 1 (31.08km) Sebastien Ogier is the fastest one with 5.3 seconds advantage to Mikko Hirvonen. Third position in the stage is Evgeny Novikov at +8.5 seconds. Latvala lost almost two minutes in the first stage due too a puncture.

Latvala explains:  "I don't know exactly where it happened, but suddenly it just felt like a tyre was flat under braking. I don't have a clear idea of what happened, at first I thought it was the right tyre because I knew I had hit a stone. Well, It doesn't look good, but let's keep going and let's see what happens in this rally."
In SS 2 Castelsardo 1 with a distance of 14.00 km Latvala pushes as he can to finish the line first in the stage. Second position in SS 2 for Ogier at +2.2 seconds and Dani Sordo third at +8.4.
Evgeny Novikov rolled 200 meters from the start of stage 2. He retired after SS 2.
Novikov explains: “My time was quite good but it was very slippery. I was distracted early on because somebody [Novikov] had gone off but there was no warning triangle. I nearly hit the car. But basically everything is okay. It’s a shame about the puncture earlier but we just have to accept that.”
In SS 3 Tergu - Osilo 1 (14.93 km) Sebastien Ogier is first followed by his team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala at +0.3 seconds. Mads Ostberg finished third at +5.3 seconds.
