There is one driver in Australia only today. This is Sebastien Ogier who won all 6 stages today. At the end of the day Ogier advantage rises to 45.9 seconds by the second in the overall standing Mikko Hirvonen. The big loser today is Kris Meeke who crashed in SS 13. Kris out of the road and rolled seven times down in a hillside.
Kris Meeke: "I went into a second gear corner and I arrived five or ten kph too fast. I thought I’d got away with it, but the car just slipped off the road. It nearly stopped, but unfortunately there was a very steep bank down into a field and it just kept tumbling. A very slow accident, but hey, an accident is an accident – the same result unfortunately.”
Results after SS 16:
1. S. Ogier / J. Ingrassia (Volkswagen Polo R WRC) 2:14:53.9
2. M. Hirvonen / J. Lehtinen (Citroen DS3 WRC) +45.9
3. T. Neuville / N. Gilsoul (Ford Fiesta RS WRC) +1:11.4
4. J. Latvala / M. Anttila (Volkswagen Polo R WRC) +1:47.6
5. A. Mikelsen / P. Nagle (Volkswagen Polo R WRC) +2:10.8
6. M. Ostberg / J. Andresson (Ford Fiesta RS WRC) +2:13.4
In the last day of Rally Australia there are to run 6 stages.
