Sebastien Ogier cuts the time to Bryan Bouffier with 11.7 seconds in the longest rally stage SS 7 Vitrolles – Col D’Espreaux – Faye with a distance of 49.03 km.
Bouffier is 35.6 seconds by the second Sebastien Ogier.
Kris Meeke who is third in the stage was 4.3 seconds faster than Robert Kubica finished fourth at +24.8 seconds by Ogier.
SS 7 was wet, rain and ice at some places include black ice.
Bouffier comments: Ogier is really coming back closer to us, I try to push. I think I lost a bit of time at the beginning, I am not awake, but I come back and I am happy. It will be difficult to catch Ogier, but I will fight.
Ogier: On the black top it is like on ice. Some times we have some big slides, but we are here. It is not a bad stage.
In the next SS 8 Selonnet – Col des Garcinets – Breziers with a distance of 22.68 km Bryan Bouffier finished first followed by Ogier at +0.2 seconds only. Kubica finished third while Meeke is fourth. The stage was with a heavy rain and icy paths.
Ostberg: The stop for the time control is far too close to the finish. Absolutely flat out in 6th gear and then we have 100-metre on shiny tarmac, we finished on field.
Hirvonen: We did the whole stage with mist on the windscreen. Most of the stage it was completely blocked with the mist on the windscreen.
Kubica: Very very slippery, very bumpy. We were very lucky in one moment, we hit something on sixth gear. Stop point is too close, it is very icy here.
Meeke: Today there is lots of black top, lots of standing water. A good choice is the cross with the winter tyres and the slicks.
