Volkswagen is much closer to join WRC in 2013

Volkswagen tested in WRC Rally Germany the Skoda Fabia S2000 with the German Christian Riedemann and Dutch driver Hans Weijs.  How you know the new VW Polo R WRC will be based on Skoda Fabia. The manufacture from Wolfsburg plans is to join WRC in 2013. The test in Germany last weekend was successful for the team while the both rally pilots finished respectively 13th and 15th. Christian Riedemann is a 24-years old starting his career in 2006 at eighteen years of age in Rally Oberland. Hans Weijsis also 24-years old who started his career at seventeen years of age in 2004 for a selection day of KNAF Talent First, a big talent scouting by the Dutch federation.

"Our test run at the Rally Germany went without the slightest problems and again provided us with many new findings. After three victories at the Dakar Rally we’ve got to re-organize ourselves in some areas and gather as much experience as possible. Our team had done a good job of preparing itself and accomplished the mission without making any mistakes," said Volkswagen Motorsport Director Kris Nissen. It is expecting new tests of Skoda Fabia S2000 soon the sport car using to build the new Polo R WRC.

Sebastien Ogier is the winner of Rally Germany 2011. He won the race with one mistake (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruvfYtu17mw) that cost him few seconds.
Second place is for the teammate Sebastien Loeb at +39.8 sec. Loeb lost top position after having a puncture. Third place and the best result for MINI driver Dani Sordo at +1:55.6. Sordo pushing hard without mistakes and set the best result for Mini so far. Forth place is for the Finn Mikko Hirvonen with Ford at +2.43.7. The Finn has couple of mistakes including hitting a wall (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYoLxdgXQYY) and few punctures during the rally. Fifth in overall standing is the privateer driver Peter Solberg with Citroen DS3. Peter has also some problems like out of the road (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej0apRm6sLg) and punctures. The Norwegian is at +3:48.0 by the winner Ogier. Sixth place for Kimi Raikkonen at +7:24.6 one excellent position for the Ex-Formula 1 driver.

Sebastien Loeb is the Power Stage winner followed by Sebastien Ogier and Peter Solberg. Latvala not succeed to gain points by the Power Stage. Ogier takes the second position by the Power Stage at +2.0 sec, Peter third at +3.0 sec while Latvala is at +3.044 seconds. Hirvonen finished the Power Stage with a puncture.

The rally leader Sebastien Ogier pushes slowly and safety during the last two stages. The second Sebastien Loeb is at +41.8. Third remain the rally surprises Dani Sordo at +1:52.1. Mikko Hirvonen is forth at +2:23.1 while fifth is the privateer Peter Solberg at +3:47.0. Further is the currently rally standing is Kimi Raikkonen, Hennning Solber and A. Araujo on eight position. Latvala is currently fourteenth out of the rally points.

Mikko Hirvonen stopped pushing hard to beat the Dani’s Mini after overshot a junctionduring the stage 17.

A big disappointed during the stage 18 for Kris Meeke with MINI. He stopped the rally after problems with the engine losing a power. More news to come on www.rallypulse.com
