Jan Kopecky wins the Canon 45 Mecsek Rallye. The Czech finished just 0.8 seconds ahead Thierry Neuville in a fantastic battle for the win. With the fantastic job the Czech star take the overall championship standing with 120 points followed by Freddy Loix with 103 points who remain third in the Hungary Rally at +1:00.0. Bryan Bouffier finished forth at +1:35.6 and fifth is H. Gassner at +2:32.5. In the championship standing after Kopecky and Loix third is Hanninen with 98 points, forth is Thierry Neuville with 78 points and fifth is Bryan Bouffier with 73 points. The difference between the winner Kopecky and Neuville is the smallest margin in the history of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. Many drivers report problems during the firsts IRC Rally in Hungary. The Canon 45 Mecsek Rallye is full of spectacles that made some of the stages very dangerous and lot of the drivers slow down especially during the SS4. Bryan Bouffier says: We met some people standing in the middle of the road. Crazy. Also Jan Kopecky says: And last two kilometers, there were people standing everywhere and we ran there around 180 kmh. Quite dangerous. During the SS 1 is reporting for problems with the corners and chicane. Andreas Mikkelsen says: Some tyres in the corners are gone, some not. It's unfair. Also in SS 1 Giandomenico Basso went out of the road close to the SS finish and have a engine failure. He left the race. In SS 2 Bruno Magalhaes says: Very bad, we have short gearbox, we have to change it. Some cars are running 20 km/h faster, while the Belgium star Freddy Loix says: We are not driving 100% on the notes, the situation is quite tricky. Many drivers report for slippery stages and quite tricky sections. In Stage 3 and 4 the Czech star Jan Kopecky report problems with the car settings, also problems for Bruno Magalhaes with the car suspension. Guy Wilks out of the race in stage 5 due too technical problems. Thierry Neuville in stage 6 says that is lost the intercom but although that he set a perfect time. During the last stage for the day Neuville report a problem with the lamps. The last stage 8 for the day was cancelled due too safety reasons (many spectacles in the stage). The Day 1 finished as the leader is the Norwegian start Andreas Mikkelsen followed by Jan Kopecy at +8.7 sec both with Skoda Fabia S2000. The local star Jan Kopecky wins Rally Czech 2011 with a difference of only 1.2 seconds ahead the Belgium star Freddy Loix. Third place is for Juho Hanninen at +37.4 sec, forth place is for Terry Neuville at +1.59.6, fifth is Andreas Mikkelsen at +2.05.7. Sixth place is for Tony Gardemeister at +3.34.2. Jan Kopecky the local star is the leader after the first day of IRC Rally Czech 2011. The Czech is 19.7 seconds ahead the second Juho Hanninen and Freddy Loix with the same time. The entire top three with Skoda Fabia S2000. The forth place is for Bryan Bouffier at +23.4 (Peugeot 207 S2000), fifth is Terry Neuville at +1:15.3, sixth Andreas Mikkelsen at +2:09.5. The top 4 drivers will challenge for the winner tomorrow in the rest six stages. The biggest losers today were Andreas Mikkelsen and Guy Wilks who delay too much after punctures. The first Ford Fiesta after Day 2 of Rally Czech is at eight position with a driver Craig Breen at +2:23.1. The first Proton Satria Neo S2000 is at tenth position (P. Andersson at +2:50.2. Juho Hanninen, the current leader in IRC championship, won the first stage. Second place for Andreas Mikkelsen at +0.5 sec, third is the local star Jan Kopecy at +1.1 sec, fourth is Freddy Loix at +2.2 sec. The top four drivers car is Skoda Fabia S2000. Gay Wilks and Terry Neuville with Peugeot 207 are respectively fifth and sixth. Eight stages are schedule for tomorrow by all 15 for the rally. Older news.
