The 22-years of age Mikkelsen won the rally after the fight with Juho Hanninen. Andreas said after the rally: “What a fantastic weekend. We were so close to winning in Hungary and even closer in Sanremo, but we could not have found a better place to score our first IRC win on ŠKODA UK’s home event. The feeling is just amazing and this result gives us something to really build on for our next rally in Cyprus.”
The current IRC championhip leader finished fifth.

Andreas Mikkelsen leads after day 2 of Rally Scotland. Mikkelsen hit a rock with a puncture in stage 3 but finished successful with a huge advantage.
The local star Alister McRea finished with his Proton finished during a stage 5 with a mechanical failure. It was reporting oil pressure problems.
Patrik Sandell has a puncture in stage 6 as he also lost the rear and sixth gear.
Thierry Neuville has hit trouble on stage 7 as he spinning twice. He said that the spinning is his mistake. Stage 8 was cancelled due too the bad road conditions.

Seven stages remain during Sunday to the final of the rally.

Thierry Neuville win Rally Sanremo 2011. Stage 11 was cancel as Freddy Loix blocks the road in a accident. Loix is ok after the accident. The last two stages were very important for Neuville victory. The Belgium star wins the rally with +1.2 sec difference with the second Andreas Mikkelsen.

Third place is for Bryan Bouffier at +16.0 sec, forth is Jan Kopecy at +1:09.1 while Bruno Magalhaes is fifth at +1:26.0.

Rally Sanremo was last rally for season 2011 for Bruno Magalhaes program.

Freddy Loix takes the Rally Sanremo leader position after a perfect night stage. He took 7.2 seconds by the night stage of Andreas Mikkelsen and takes the overall lead after day 1. Freddy said that the stages are very difficult in day 1 but in spite that he lead of +2.7 seconds ahead Mikkelsen. Third position for Thiery Neuville at +16.6 sec forth is Bryan Bouffier at +17.8 sec. The overall championship leader Jan Kopecy is fifth at +34.2 who said: It was sliding, I was losing speed. I hope to push more tomorrow, I'm not happy with our pace today.

Many problems reporting for the rest top drivers. Pierre Campana had a rear right puncture fifteen kilometers before the finish and he lost a lot of time. Toni Gardemeister also has a puncture while the Proton driver Basso first lost the intercom and after that out of the road. Karl Kruda also out of the road during the night stage.

For tomorrow in the next six stages the battle for the leader position continue between Loix and Mikkelsen.

Rally Sanremo 2011 start with problems for Guy Wilks. In the first stage of the rally Guy hit a bridge and is out of the rally. The Australian star Chris Atkinson with Proton stopped in the first stage and is out of the rally for now.

During the first stage Harry Hunt has a problem with the water temperature. Thierry Neuville says that the car have to adjust the rear brakes. Pierre Campana also has a problem as he said that the car is moving too much in the rear.

In stage 3 Thierry Neuville not using the full power of the car due too no grip at some places. Andreas Mikkelsen has a problem with the car. He said: Other guys are going quickly. The car is understeering, we have to improve it in the service. In spite that Andreas Mikkelsen lead after SS3 followed by Thierry Neuville at +1.4 sec, third is Freddy Loix at +1.9 sec. Forth place for Bryan Bouffier at +4.0 sec, fifth is U. Scandola at +7.0 sec. The leader in the championship Jan Kopecky is seventh at +9.2 sec followed by the Proton driver G. Basso at +13.0 sec.
