GiandomenicoBasso is the suprice of Rally San Marino 2012 who win the rally with 2.8 seconds by Andreas Mikkelsen.
In the second day Mikkelsen start with 9.2 seconds advantage after the stage 6. In stage 7 Rofelle 1 (15.85 km) Basso finished first with 7.9 seconds faster than Mikkelsen as the overall difference was 1.3 seconds only. In stage 8 the overall time was identical between Basso and Mikkelsen. In this stage Mikkelsen comments: Last few kilometers we had no powersteering. On the previous stage we were heavily cleaning the road. UmbrtoScandola spin 200 meters before the finished but do not lose his third position in the overall standing.
The stage win is for GermainBonnefis who says: It's good, we are going faster and faster. Perfect time, but we started later and we had batter road.
After the service in stage 9 Basso start with new tyres but he comments for problems with the tyre choice as lost 0.3 seconds by Mikkelsen. Scandola comments: We changed the dampers, but the setup is still not very good. JuhaSalo: We had a small spin, but OK for us, we are getting the right feeling with this car. Bonnefis: We came out of the road little bit and we got a puncture. But not big time loss. It was early after stage start.
In stage 10 again equal time between Basso and Mikkelsen.
In stage 11 Basso takes good advantage to Mikkelsen of 4.9 seconds. Mikkelsen comments: No problem, the road is clean, but we are struggling with that black turbocar. Basso: Maximum attack. OK, good for us. Andreas is very fast. Wiegand: I'm feeling OK, now we have better setup. On the previous stage we had a puncture. We try to learn and improve. Nikara: There are some knocking sounds on the left side, I'm not shure what it is. I hope it's nothing serious. GermainBonnefis retired in stage 11.
In stage 12 Mikkelsen win with advantage of 1.1 seconds to Basso who remain on the top with 3.8 seconds advantage.
The last stage 12 the win is for Mikkelsen with 1.0 seconds but not enough to takes the victory. Final comments: Basso: Fantastic, I am really happy, it's great. Andreas is very good driver. Thanks to our team, they are great! Mikkelsen: I tried to go maximum. The final section was downhill so I pushed with big cuts. It was big battle, the better one wins. Scandola: Good results for us and for the Italian championship. It was good race. Wiegand: It was good rally for us, we learnt a lot. We had good start, now we are fourth, but it was OK.

In stage 3 Andreas Mikkelsen takes the rally lead. Mikkelsen finished stage 3 second after Basso who win Sestino 2 19.33 km. Stage 3: Mikkelsen: Much better now, the tyres are good. We are struggling in the hairpins in the uphill section, turbocharged car is better there.
In stage 4 finally Mikkelsen win the stage Mercatello 2 24.15 km. Comments in stage 4: Basso: Very difficult, I'm happy. We'll see with the special stage. My feeling with the gravel is better and better. Mikkelsen: Thinks are going good. We are not pushing to the limit. Wiegand: I had a spin in one narrow section and I had to turn. I had a feeling that I had flat tyre all the time, it was difficult to drive. Scandola: We are maybe on 80 or 90 % of the engine power.

SeppWiegand takes the first stage of Rally San Marino 2012. The stage 1 (19.33 km) Sestino 1 was successive for U. Scandola who finished second, as the 2011 champion Andreas Mikkelsen is third. The first three leaders drive SkodaFabia S 2000.
G. Basso is forth with Ford Fiesta S 2000. GermainBonnefis stopped in the stage as that cause to stop the following after him.
After G. Basso everyone is with his time due too blocked road. Comments after SS 1: G. Basso: It was very difficult. Very slippery, we had two spins. A. Mikkelsen: It was very difficult stage, so narrow! We had clean run. S. Wiegand: It was really really slippery. I enjoyed it, I think I can push more. I'm so happy! U. Scandola: We have a problem with the engine, we have water in the fuel. Stage 2 (24.15 km) - Mercatello 1:
First in this stage is G. Basso, following by Andreas Mikkelsen and SeppWiegand. The stage delay with 30 minutes due too the blocked road in stage 1. Comments in stage 2: G. Basso: Very difficult, it's very hot. I did two mistakes, I'm affraid to push. A. Mikkelsen: Very slippery. I can't find any confidence with the tyres, we are sliding everywhere. S. Wiegand: The stage was OK, but we had two or three moments, when I went too late on brakes. We smashed some small tree, I don't know if there is some damage to the car. U. Scandola: We still have the same problems. (water in the fuel). Results after SS 2:

JuhoHanninen wins Rally Geko Ypres 2012 after his major competitor Andreas Mikkelsen retired. There are no changes in the overall standing after SS 7 when Mikkelsen retired.
Comments: Hanninen: I am very happy. I have beaten Freddy and Andreas, I didn't make so many mistakes, setup was perfect. I was very confident with my performance. Loix: I am not thinking about stopping my career, I hope to win next time. Combination of Skoda and Juho was unbeatable this year. Tsjoen: It was good weekend. Good result, no big mistakes. S2000 is not my type of car. Flodin: It was my first IRC rally and I am in finish. I am happy, it was long and difficult rally, I had no experience with it, with Hankook and Fiesta. Our next rally is on gravel.

Andreas Mikkelsen is out of Rally Geko Ypres 2012. Mikkelsen is out after breaking a suspension arm on his Skoda overshooting a junction and going off the road in SS 7 Heuvelland 1 (26.75 km). In the same stage there are another two accidents with Kris Princen and Cedric De Cecco while PatrikFlodin had a problem with driveshaft.
In the next stage 8 Hanninen comments: I'm not pushing, but still long way to go. Very difficult stage, five million junctions.
Freddy Loix: I'm pushing, but I can't go quicker. I know how the Skoda's working.
The problems with the driveshaft for PatrikFlodin continue. Results after SS 9:
