I don’t know what it is but it feels like a driveshaft. The car suddenly lost drive on a left-hand corner. I carried on in two-wheel drive. It looks like the front differential exploded. It’s never happened before.”
Ogier finished the stage at eight positions at 35.7 by the stage winner Mads Ostberg, while Latvala lost 1:16.2.

Comments:
Ostberg: I started to push a little bit too early and at the end my tyres were completely done. I want to pass Lappi and Al-Qassimi, hopefully it is enough to get some points. It has been very good, we know the reasons for the crash and think that these things just happen. Unfortunately, but I think we done a good rally.
Novikov: I am happy with the place, 4th position is very good for us. I am happy.
Latvala: I need to be happy, it is my first podium with Volkswagen, also the power stage I managed to push. I was only concentrating on my driving and to be honest I am satisfied with that.
Hirvonen: I tried, I really pushed hard but not fast enough. It was a tough stage, we had to fight so much with the tyres as well. We have to keep on working, I am not happy with the pace this weekend. My rhythm was not perfect, sometimes pushing too hard, but 2nd place, not too bad.
Ogier: Superb weekend. It has been really complicated for us, I came here on Monday and was not sure whether I could do the rally. The team has done a good job, we had a few problems and they managed to fix it.

Mikkelsen: I drove terrible on this stage, so many crests. I have way too much information in my notes. I did not find good rhythm.
Kosciuszko: I hit something with the left rear wheel, fortunately we are here. We lost some time but not a lot. Sliding, very difficult to drive on those tyres. They overheated, we are on the soft compound.
Hirvonen: It is ok, but now we are going to lose time, those Volkswagens are really fast on this stage. I have to drive, that is the only thing I can do.
Ogier: It was good morning. Every stage, after 10 kms, I have to fight, it is not easy for me.
