Hirvonen: "It is just about keeping second position now. We did some changes to the car in the morning to see if we can help tyre wear a little bit, but now it's quite difficult to drive and I don't have any confidence, so I'd rather keep my place now."

2. M. Hirvonen +30.6
3. P. Solberg +56.1
4. M. Ostberg +1:05.5
5. E. Novikov +2:21.2
6. S. Loeb +3:09.6
7. H. Solberg +3:25.4
8. P. Sandell +4:47.7

Latvala comments: "It gives a bit more of a relaxed feeling now. I knew that if he was going to come back, he was going to come back on the first one, so that's where I needed to be quick."
Hirvonen comments: "I was not confident at all and had a couple of big slides, and it's very slippery and was a narrow road. I took it steady, I didn't want to make a mistake when I didn't have a good feeling. We did some changes to the car just to see if we could save tyres a bit more and it wasn't so good. Better to be here than over there [off the road]."
Ostberg comments: "I tried to push now but it's very, very difficult conditions. It seems like a lot of drivers have gone off the road so there's no clean line for me to follow. We did a clean run and I just hope it's good enough."
P. Solberg comments: "It's not too bad, but I lost everything at the end. We just have to keep on pushing, that's it."
Evgeny Novikov comments about the battle with Sebastien Loeb: "I won't let him catch us today, for sure. We will go flat-out. It's fifth position or nothing, that's for sure."
Loeb comments: "There was too much snow in the stage, I couldn't get a really good rhythm. It was too slippery. I tried to stay on the road. I think he will stay in front."

Hirvonen: "I know my tyres are completely shattered now, I don't have any studs left."
Ostberg: "I had some electrical problems with the car in the stage - it went into launch mode. It was just cutting the engine all the time. I pulled everything and then it went off after a few hundred metres, but we lost a lot from this. I suffered a lot on the last stage to have proper tyres for this stage and then this happens. It's just a shame. It was a nightmare really."
Loeb: "I got a puncture and I continued to drive like that and it went completely off. I hit a stone on the road, but it was on the line so I couldn't do anything. What can I do?"
Novikov: "I am pushing to the maximum, I am doing everything that I can. We are really pushing a lot.”

In the last day of Rally Sweden there are 6 stages as the first start at 8:34 local time.
