Mikko cuts the difference with Loeb to 1.3 seconds

Mikko Hirvonen will not giving up easy. He sets the best time in stage 5, Dyfi West 1 (10.31km) with 2.5 seconds, while Latvala remain third in the stage with 3.8 seconds delay.

2. M. Hirvonen +1.3
3. J. latvala +9.6
4. P. Solberg +29.0



Loeb leads with 3.8 seconds to Hirvonen after stage 4

Sebastien Loeb takes 3.1 seconds by the first stage for day 2. In the overall standing Loeb leads with 3.8 seconds ahead Mikko Hirvonen. There are 3 stages for the morning and another 4 staged during the afternoon of day 2. Latvala driving carefully on stage 4 Gartheiniog 1 (19.72km) and finished with 5.2 seconds delay.
Petter Solberg lost about 6 seconds as spin within the stage.
The current rally leader Sebastien Loeb comment after the stage 4: “We had very good start, but also two moments on the mud, so I time on some places.”
Mikko Hirvonen comments after stage 4: “It was bit dark, on long straights I couldn't see braking points. The conditions are getting very good.”
Latvala comments: “Some places the grip is OK, some places not, it's difficult to find the rhytm.”

Sebastien Loeb leads after Day 1 of Rally Wales 2011

The rally leader after day 1 Sebastien Loeb comments the last stage: "It was very slippery, there was a lot of mud and the grip was changing at every corner."
Mikko Hirvonen who set the best time in stage 3 said: "It was surprisingly dark in the forests but I was quite happy with that."
Latvala who lost the leader position said: "I wasn't maybe having the best feeling on the stage but it was okay."
Matthew Wilson has a problem with the lights during the evening stage. His front bumper light come up that cause him 23 seconds delay in stage 3.

Loeb leads to Hirvonen with 0.7 seconds difference

Mikko Hirvonen pushes as fast as possible on stage 3 the last stage for day 1. Mikko finished at 2.3 seconds faster than Sebastien Loeb while Latvala set worse splits and final result is delay of 6.3 seconds on stage 3. The current leader after stage 3 is Sebastien Loeb followed by Mikko Hirvonen at +0.7 seconds.

Sebastien Ogier is out of Rally Wales 2011

The first one who is out of the rally is Sebastien Ogier who hit a wall. Petter Solberg delay due too puncture caused by clipping a curb and is with damage rear suspension. The stage was dry but latter with damp and slippery roads. The last stage before the service is 15.77 km that may delay Petter Solberg more.
The current leader said: "It was a difficult start for me, really really nasty. I saw big braking marks and then I saw Ogier’s car in the wall."

Loeb is 3.0 seconds faster than Hirvonen after stage 2

Sebastien Loeb repair his time on the second pass of Great Orme (4.74km). Latvala was little slower than the first passing of the short stage. Finally Latvala continue to lead while Loeb takes 3.0 seconds to Mikko who is the only one challenging the championship title by Loeb.

Still one stage remains for day 1 that is Clocaenog 15.77 km schedule for 16.18 local time.
 



Latvala is the fastest on stage 1. Loeb is 0.4 seconds ahead Mikko

Sebastien Loeb stars the first stage of the 4-days rally with a better time than Mikko. He gains 0.4 seconds by the pretender for the champion title for 2011 Mikko Hirvonen. The battle for the title will be 4-days 23 stages. The stage number one current leader is Jari-Matti Latvala who set fantastic time of 1.9 seconds faster than Loeb.
