Croatian electric car is the fastest in the world with a track record

Croatian hypercar Rimac Nevera has become the fastest mass-produced electric car in the world. On the Automotive Testing Papenburg track in Germany, he was able to accelerate to 412 kilometers per hour. The record was recorded using the Racelogic V-Box measuring complex, and two years ago, just such a speed was shown by the simulation. The car was shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R road tires, plus the Top Speed mode was activated on it.

The Rimac Nevera hypercar has set a new world speed for marketable electric vehicles. For this, he had to be sent to the oval of the German company Automotive Testing Papenburg, where Rimak test pilot Miro Zrnchevich was able to accelerate to 412 kilometers per hour. The testers had the car itself, shod in road-homologated Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, and two four-kilometre straights.

An impressive result is obtained in the Top Speed mode, which allows you to find the optimal balance between low resistance and stability. Zrnchevich already accelerated to 250 kilometers per hour at the exit of the curve, so it was not so difficult to catapult Nevera to a maximum of four hundred.

The record was recorded using the Racelogic V-Box measuring complex, but something else is interesting: back in 2018, this was exactly the speed that the simulation predicted.

It took a collective 1.6 million development hours to test the findings empirically. However, even earlier, Nevera set a record for acceleration to 60 miles per hour (1.85 s) and for passing the quarter (8.582 s).

But the absolute speed record for electric cars so far belongs to the Venturi Buckeye Bullet 3. The streamlined “cigar”, whose air resistance coefficient is only 0.13, accelerated to 549.43 kilometers per hour in Bonneville.

Each axle of the Buckeye Bullet 3 had two electric motors driving its wheel through a two-stage Hewland gearbox. Together with a traction battery with a capacity of more than two megawatts, they developed a total of 3000 forces.

Rimac Nevera also uses four electric motors, although their combined output is lower - 1914 horsepower and 2360 Nm of torque. The battery pack with a capacity of 120 kilowatt-hours is integrated into the structure of the carbon fiber monocoque.

According to the Nevera passport, it accelerates from standstill to a hundred in 1.97 seconds, to 300 kilometers per hour in 9.3 seconds.
