Comments: Loeb: "I was pushing hard and went flat out until today. The car was working very well and we are satisfied with the result for us and the team."
"This rally was so long and difficult. We had some fortune in the morning, but in general we had to fight really hard. It was really good. I tried to always keep my rhythm and do what I felt. I tried to manage the car and the tires. I believe that everybody has done a great Rally, Mikko, Petter and JariMatti."
Hirvonen: "I am happy with the result. After Friday I didn't have so much to do. Just no mistakes and bring the car back. It's a very good result for the team. The team did a fantastic job with the car. I believe I can be faster than this."
"Realistic the pace was not great this weekend. I learned a lot from this rally. But it was a great result for the team."
Latvala: "I have to be satisfied because I am on the podium, but still I am disappointed because I could win. Also in the Power Stage, I thought I drove well, but still Loeb was quicker. Speed is not a problem against Sebastien. But when things get really close, it seems to be able to analyze the situation and push hard without mistakes. He is very clever. And I have to improve that."
"I really tried and pushed here, I used all the road. I don't know if it was enough and I tried to keep the speed up. At least, after a long time we are on the podium. Also, I learned a lot. I have to be cleverer in the future."
Better car setting for Solberg allow him to close Loeb to 10.2 seconds Posted by WRC - 26/05/12 06:24PM - 0 Comments - WRC -
Petter Solberg close the difference with SebastienLoeb to 10.2 seconds at the end of the third day of Rally Acropolis 2012.

Comments after SS 16: Loeb: "I think it's ok. It's impossible to drive at the end of the stage. From 120 km/h now you drive at 40 km/h. You don't control the car." Hirvonen: "It was like driving in Monte Carlo with slicks. The good thing is we are here. We just survive in this stage." Solberg: "This is very good. But Seb is coming fast. I lost about 7 seconds at the end. I overshoot a junction. It was a good run but Loeb is a clever guy. It's a long way to go and let's see what happens." Latvala: "When we had the puncture we had a broken caliper. Especially now it was really difficult to brake. We have to drive very slowly."
Comments after SS 17: Loeb: "He was very fast, so we will fight tomorrow. We were not so lucky. It was raining in the previous one and we also had heavy rain at the beginning of this one." Hirvonen: "This was not what I have hoped for. In the end, we are here for now, after these conditions and difficult stages. This stage was quite slippery. We made sure that we made no mistakes and go back safe." Latvala: "This was the best I can do with three brakes. It was difficult because we couldn't use the handbrake in hairpins. So this was the best we could do. I am happy to be here, so we can go to the service and solve all our problems." Solberg: "It's fantastic. I didn't take any risk and I was hoping to take some time. It will be interesting. It's really good. I am quite happy. I hope the difference to be 6 seconds!"
Comments after the end of the day: Latvala: "In the exit which cost us the puncture, the curve was getting open and I got on the throttle sooner than I should. About tomorrow I want to finish the Rally and let's see how the podium will be." Solberg: "We did something in the car on the service and after that we were in front of Loeb. We are not driving harder. It is just that the car is better. With a car like that, tomorrow I will take back the difference from Loeb." Loeb: "The afternoon was very tricky. We were caught by a storm. There was a lot of mud in the special stages. The gravel in some places was OK, in some others not. I lost time due to the rain, but we still have 10 seconds advantage for tomorrow." Hirvonen: "It was a quite difficult day. After the service, the pace was there. After Jari-Matti's problem we kept it steady and we will do the same tomorrow."
