Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai i20 WRC) imposed himself on Saturday’s last stage and gets away from his runner-ups in the fight for the second position in the Overall. In the front, the other driver from Hyundai Mobis Shell WRT, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20 WRC), is leading strong and tomorrow will have to  dose the 45 seconds of advantage in the stages of Valle de Traslasierra.

The Norwegian driver got his third partial victory thanks to an outstanding performance in the second pass through Cuchilla Nevada-Characato (33,65km). Just the perfect timing and when he needed to get away from his runner-ups, he stuck the clock in 19:34.5, almost ten seconds faster than Ott Tänak (Toyota Yaris WRC) during the morning.

Mikkelsen took 4s8/10 from Sébastien Ogier (Citroën C3 WRC) and six seconds from Kris Meeke (Toyota Yaris WRC).

At the end of Saturday the overall finds Neuville in front, with a time of 2h37m23.6/10, followed by Mikkelsen, at 45s7/10, while the third position goes to Meeke who is at 1m03s2/10. Ogier is now in fourth place at 1m06s2/10 and Daniel Sordo (Hyundai i20 WRC) completes the the first five, at 1m12s0/10 from the winner.

Mads Ostberg (Citroën C3 R5) closed the day in front in the WRC2 Pro, while Pedro Heller (Ford Fiesta R5) did his own among the WRC2.
