Paddon beats Ogier in Power Stage and won YPF Rally Argentina 2016!

Hayden Paddon (Hyundai i20) won Power Stage being 11s7 faster than Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen Motorsport) and achieved his first victory in WRC. Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen Motorsport) completed the podium.

Hayden Paddon (Hyundai i20 WRC) benefited himself from the abandonment of Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen Polo R) and climbed up to the highest of the overall classification. The Finn made three rollovers half of the penultimate stage of the day and could not go on. This way the YPF Rally Argentina will have a new winner. Hayden Paddon (Hyundai i20) won SS14 (Los Gigantes – Cantera el Cóndor II) and is now the new leader of YPF Rally Argentina 2016. Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen Polo R) suffered three rollovers and was not able to complete the stage.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen Polo R) won SS4 (Santa Rosa – San Agustin I) and now he’s YPF Rally Argentina 2016 new leader. Hayden Paddon (Hyundai i20) finished second and remains in 2nd place in overall classification. Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen Polo R) lost two places in overall and now is in 3th place. Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen Polo R) won SS2 (Soconcho – Villa del Dique I) with 1s3 of gap over Hayden Paddon (Hyundai i20). Dani Sordo (Hyundai i20) finished third 2 seconds behind the french driver and now shares the second place of overall classification with his New Zealander teammate.

The 36th edition of the most passionate world rally had an incredible start in the night of the Cordoba City Super Special across the Civic Centre. Along a short but demanding stage, approximately 30,000 people were amazed at the WRC power and the talent of the best world drivers.

The New Zealand driver was really fast with his Hyundai i20 New Generation in Villa Carlos Paz – Cabalango stage letting everybody know that he will fight for the victory. Volkswagen Motorsport team drivers Jari-Matti Latvala and Sebastien Ogier finished in second and third place.
