The Toyota Classic was produced in 1997 in 1997, in honor of the 60th anniversary of the first Toyota Model AA car in 1936, celebrated a year earlier. The car had a retro exterior and was sold only in the domestic market of Japan.

The Classic is based on a Toyota Hilux frame pickup truck with a two-row cab (code N100), which is quite modern for the 90s. If you look closely, you can see that the body of the “neo-retro model” is made on the basis of the pickup truck cab - the power frame, all doors and windows are preserved from it.
