The electric SUV turns on the spot and has 1100 hp
BYD unveiled a 1,100-horsepower electric all-terrain vehicle and supercar with a 0-60 mph time of 2 seconds. The models will be part of the portfolio of the new Yangwang brand.
BYD-owned brand Yangwang introduced two electric cars: a 1100-horsepower U8 frame SUV and a U9 supercar. The first one surpassed the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 in size, received four electric motors and an advanced traction control system, on the basis of which various driving modes are implemented. The ATV can move diagonally, turn around on the spot, and cross sand dunes. According to forecasts, the cost of the car will be from 800 thousand to 1.5 million yuan, which corresponds to EUR 110 000 - EUR 207 000.

The Yangwang brand, created by BYD for expensive electric cars, introduced the U8 SUV. The model uses the Yi Sifang technology platform, is equipped with four individually controlled electric motors, a Blade traction battery and 20-inch wheels. The wheelbase of the frame all-terrain vehicle is 3.05 meters, length - 5.3. It is almost 300 millimeters longer than the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, and falls short of some 80 millimeters to the Cadillac Escalade.
Each U8 electric motor produces 220-240 kilowatts (299-326 hp) and 320-420 Nm, which in total allows you to get more than 1100 peak recoil forces. Up to a hundred, the electric car accelerates in three seconds, and for braking up to 1.08 g it uses only electric motors. Because all-wheel drive is electric, it reacts 100 times faster than mechanical all-wheel drive, plus it gives you 20 times more traction control.
It also allows you to add different modes of movement. The U8 has separate settings for snow, ice, sandy slopes and fords. In addition, the SUV can turn around on the spot, move to a diagonal, like the GMC Hummer EV, and level out after a tire breakdown at speeds up to 120 kilometers per hour.
Simultaneously with the U8, Yangwang also introduced a second model, the U9. This is a supercar with butterfly-wing doors, a stabilizer fin and starry sky front optics. Up to a hundred U9 accelerates in 2 seconds, and so far this is all that is known about it.
